Siti Aisya and Doan Thi Huong, two women suspected of
killing North Korean Kim Jong Nam on the 13th of February, plead not
guilty to the murder charge.
Both facing the death penalty, the women say that “they
thought they were playing a harmless prank or a hidden-camera show” after
exposing the VX nerve agent on the victim’s face which eventually killed him.
Aisya, who originates from Indonesia, says that about a
month prior to the incident, she was recruited and introduced to “a North
Korean man” who paid her for performing pranks on random targets.
After the incident occurred, it was discovered that there
were a total of four North Koreans who were involved- one who fled “on the day
of the killing”, and three who were then exchanged “for nine Malaysians” who were
in Pyongyang.
