The Contributions of Giant Panda in Politics

The symbolic natural treasure of China, Giant Panda, has take part in the political history of the world since years ago. This black and white ambassadors are allocated around the world by means and known as "Panda Diplomacy".

As explained by Sun Weide, China's Charge d‘Affaires in Indonesia, “The giant panda is the national treasure of China. This current year (2017) is a chance for Indonesia and Finland to welcome a pair on loan Giant Panda, as a manifestation of cooperation and friendship with China. Finland as the first Western countries who had bilateral agreements with Beijing in 1950, will come to the end of finalization of its agreement on panda protection and expected to be arrived by the end of this year. While a pair of Giant Panda, namely Cai Tao and Hu Chun, has arrived in Indonesia and ready to go on public in Taman Safari Zoo this November.

The "Panda Diplomacy" have been used to forge political friendship across the globe since 1950. The allocation of Panda in several countries indirectly represent the relationship of its country with the China, especially the trust of Chinese government to the local conservation management due to the protection of the Panda.
