Former football legend O.J.
Simpson turned into a free man again early on Sunday at the local time after
serving nine years for a botched hotel-room robbery in Las Vegas that brought
the conviction and prison time he avoided in the killings of his ex-wife Nicole
Brown Simpson and a friend Ron Goldman after his 1995 absolution in the “trial
of the century” in Los Angeles.

Lovelock, Nev.
The 70-year-old Simpson wins his
freedom after being granted parole at a hearing in July. Not at all like the
last time he went free, 22 years ago, he will confront restrictions up to five
years of parole supervision and he’s unlikely to escape public scrutiny as the
man who transformed from charismatic football legend, movie star and TV
personality into suspected killer and convicted armed robber.

Simpson is a native California,
born in San Francisco, once called "Juice" winning the Heisman
Trophy, award for top college football players, in 1968 while attending the
University of Southern California and becoming one of the greatest National
Football League of all time with Buffalo Bills. He lives in Los Angeles at the
time of the murder.
Although Simpson's final goal
remains unclear, he told parole board members that he hopes to move to Florida,
where he was looking forward to reuniting with his friends and family, and be
reintroduced with technology.
A close friend of Tom Scotto, who
lives in Naples, Florida, has offered Simpson to live in his home. Simpson lost
his home near Miami for confiscation in 2012. Two Simpson children, Justin and
Sydney, also live in Florida.
Five years of parole supervision can be reduced by credit
for good behavior.
