Obstacles won’t stop Catalan’s independence declaration

Jeffry Hariwijaya - 00000012890

Barcelona – Numerous number of Catalan’s revolutionist are still planning on proclaiming Catalan as a sovereign country disregard of the order given by Spain’s constitutional court to suspend the unilaterally declaration of independence.

Catalan’s leader Carles Puigdemont has repeatedly demands for mediation with Spain following majority result in the referendum is in favor of dividing Catalonia and Spain. Although the referendum was allegedly said to be illegal, A Catalan legislator is saying that the Catalan revolutionist group are still discussing on declaring independence on Tuesday and submitting it to the assembly despite the statement by Mariano Rajoy, Prime Minister of Spain to urge the Catalonian Government to postponing in order to prevent "Greater Evils".

It seems that the Spanish government will not go down without a fight as previously the police are using violent act to stop the referendum causing a tense confrontation in the area. Although the government through its prime minister Mariano Rajoy has apologize for its action, stocks has reached the lowest drop ever since the Brexit referendum and numerous amount of investors has pulled out its assets outside Catalonia and moving them into another cities in Spain to prevent losses economically.

It seems as if mediation is very essential to both Catalonia and the Spanish Government in order to reach an agreement and also to stabilize the domestic and foreign condition both politically and economically before it will be too late.
