As Emmanuel Macron, French President said, 2018 is the ideal time for EU to seize the moment to gain economy development and increased internal confidence to push the bloc through reforms before European elections 2019. Furthermore, in two weeks time, Donald Tusk, the EU Council President, would be presenting a political agenda reconciling Macron’s views on how EU should maintain the global relevant with EU nations that not want to grow too quickly, through the embracement of joint budget, military forces and tax harmonization.

Tusk also promises to seek the “real solutions to real problems” and pointing out the importance of progress “step-by-step, issues-by-issues”. At the same time, Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte also warned not to set the bar too high, seeing it will also be a tough challenge to face a changes in the bloc of half a billion people.
